About Oxford, MS - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Sometimes referred to as the “Cultural Mecca of the South”, Oxford is a popular city found in northern Mississippi. Oxford serves as the seat of Lafayette County, and the University of Mississippi – or Ole Miss – calls the city home. Oxford is located within 100 miles of Memphis and is found in the state’s North Central Hills region. With about 24,000 residents, education is important to the community, and Oxford is served by both Lafayette County and Oxford School Districts.

Oxford has many interesting attractions and places to visit. William Faulkner grew up in the community, and his fans may like to visit his home at Rowan Oak. Football fans may like to check out a game at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium, and outdoor recreation is available at Lamar Park, Bailey’s Woods Trail, and Thacker Mountain Rail Trail. The Confederate Cemetery is also a popular destination for history buffs.

Oxford residents will enjoy four seasons here, including a hot and humid summer. Daily high temperatures average in the upper-80s, so it is important that residents have access to central air conditioning or another cooling system. When selecting a central air conditioner to keep homes and businesses cool during these months, residents should consider the size of a potential unit – an A/C that is too small won’t properly cool a home, and it will work harder to keep up with interior temperatures demands. An HVAC specialist can help locals to select the right system.

Climate controls are also important here during the winter months, although the season tends to be short. Temperatures are cold, and this time of the year is very wet. For the most part, that precipitation comes in the form of rain, but snow and ice are also common. In fact, major ice storms have affected the area in the past, so residents are cautious at home and should have reliable heat pumps or furnace systems at home to protect against adverse weather conditions.
